Calendula

Well-known for their medicinal uses, the flowers of the Calendula plant (English Marigold) are thought to contain a variety of beneficial properties. In particular, these yellow-to-orange flowers contain oil that acts as a detoxifying agent when included in certain types of beauty care products. As such, it is the ideal ingredient to blend into antiseptic formulas. Therefore, Calendula is often found in first-aid solutions for the purpose of addressing sunburns, blemishes, and other types of skin conditions. It may help wounds heal more quickly, while also reducing the type of inflammation that typically accompanies injuries to the skin.
